Espot is a resort that enjoys a privileged location in the Pyrenees, on the edge of the Aigüestortes National Park and Sant Maurici Lake.
It is characterised by its location in lush black pine forests and has been awarded the "Family Tourism Destination" seal of quality by the Catalan Tourism Agency, which recognises the main tourist attractions for families in the resort and its surroundings.
Aigüestortes i Estany de Sant Maurici National Park is one of the best-preserved protected natural areas in southern Europe. In addition to its natural and cultural attractions, it now offers exceptional conditions for the practice of astronomy. Here there are still small villages scattered and hidden among the mountains, as is the case of the 10 municipalities within the Park, where we can enjoy the experience of a black sky, where the stars are infinite. These regions deserve to be preserved and can obtain international recognition as a Starlight Tourist Destination and Starlight Reserve (UNESCO), as the inhabitants of these regions decide to take action to preserve the darkness of the firmament and not add more light pollution. In October 2018, the Aigüestortes i Estany de Sant Maurici National Park obtained this certification. The resort has more than 20 km of skiing and 1.000 meters of elevation gain.
The tracks are characterized by being within lush black pine forests. Also the beautiful mountain views of more than 3,000 m make the skier feel in the middle of alpine nature. Espot is a resort known for the quality of its snow, guaranteed to have more than 60% of the ski area with snow produced.
On the other hand, it has three slopes approved for international competitions, this gives an idea of the level of the slopes and their suitability for expert skiers looking for sensations. The station also has a large beginners' area at an altitude of 2,000 and an important playground. This allows you to enjoy the day in the snow, both for the little ones and for the skiing parents.
A highly recommended option for skiers or snowboarders of an average level, is to go down from the highest point of the station to the bottom through the blue track.
The village of Espot, just 2 km from the station, is a beautiful rural village typical of the Pyrenees that combines the modernity of its hotels and shops with the tradition of its buildings. The incredible natural setting that surrounds it makes it the gateway to the National Park.
Espot, a family resort for all those looking for sensations about the snow and the warmth of a typical alpine village.
In the interactive 3D map of Espot and the piste map of the station you will find all the information regarding pistes, ski lifts, services and activities.
